At the foot of well- known Mganu Mountains, next to the huge Ntenetyana Dam, is the best school of agriculture known as Tyelimhlphe Agricultural School. Its existence can be understood in the context of rural development programme. The school prides itself for its fascinating history. The school derives its name from the famous cave of Tyelimhlophe in the mountains of Mganu, where a fountain broke out- a fountain that continually supplies water to the great Ntenetyana Dam. The school seeks to be a fountain of knowledge to the learners in the field of Agriculture and Science. As the only agricultural school in the entire region of Umzimvubu in Mount Frere, it attracts learners from diverse backgrounds.
The school seeks to render quality education by offering agricultural subjects, inclusive of all races and sexes for purposes of producing life-long and multi-skilled learners in the area of agriculture and science, who will be of public value to the economy of our country.
In order to achieve the envisaged vision, we need a dedicated, cooperative and enthusiastic school community through participation, involvement of all stakeholders in all decision making processes and implementation of curriculum which is reflective of agriculture and science.
Tyelimhlophe Agricultural School started to operate in January 2015. It caters for the following grades:
Grade 8 to Grade 10 (in 2015)

Grade 12 (in 2017)

Admissions open in July of every year. The space is limited and learners secure themselves a space by early applications. The following documents must accompany all applications for admission:
1. Mid-year progress report.
2. Birth certificate or identity document of the learner
3. Identity document of the parent or guardian
At the end of the year, the following documents must be submitted:
1. Final report card
2. Transfer letter
It is worth noting that any document submitted for application remains a property of the school and will in no way be given back to the applicant. Therefore, applicants are always advised and encouraged to submit certified copies of the original documents.
